Activities

Outdoor activities:
We are ideally located for cyclists, walkers and horse riders to explore!! Venture up onto the wide open fells or down into the network of quiet lanes, bridleways and footpaths!!

Cyclists - The area caters for both recreational and experienced road and mountain bike cyclists. Families can cycle the many quiet lanes cutting between hamlets and villages of the Eden Valley. - http://www.visiteden.co.uk/index.php/outdoor-adventures/cycling-in-eden/cycling-routes-ullswater

Walkers – We are almost surrounded by fells! Take your pick. The low level route of Wainwrights C2C passes our road end.  Visit RSPB's Haweswater estate (famed for its resident golden eagle), walk over to Pooley Bridge at Lake Ullswater and take the steamer across to Glenridding, For families, take a 'Tale trail'. Tale Trails are local 1-2 hour family walks based around a fun story and a hand drawn map for kids. Look out for the Marsh Kelpie of Askham Fell!

Equestrian – The regional riding route 'Eden Valley Loops passes the farm. This loop takes you over the well known Loadpot Hill, the top of which is 672m above sea level with amazing views of Ullswater and the surrounding fells. It takes in the Cockpit, which is an ancient stone circle near the Roman road, High Street. The area also hosts several Endurance GB competition rides.
